Nauvoo Revisited!

We went to Nauvoo this past weekend....mostly because I was photographing a wedding. BUT it was a great way for us to get away and spend a little anniversary time together.

This past December was our real 2 year anniversary and I was working on my finals at school so we didn't get to spend that day as planned or desired, but this made up for it!

the Grand Anne Bed & Breakfast
(this is where we spent our honeymoon!)

We spent the night at the best bed and breakfast accross the river in Keokuk, IA. This place is huge and historic and really fun! Plus you get this huge, all homemade, breakfast in the morning that is to die for. This time we had almond french toast w/whip cream, fresh fruit and Jeremiah made himself some hot coco w/cream, honey, water, syrup and sugar.....I cant vouge for how good that was but he drank it all!

this shows Jeremiah trying out the hammok on the porch....hesitant at first, and then he understands how awesome those things really are!
( "Honey, will you push me?")

That night we were planning to go and tour around Nauvoo a bit. HOWEVER, when we got to the B&B around 3pm we were too pooped and hot to go outside. Sooooo, we stayed inside, played pool ( I won the first game, Jeremiah won the second game), played a round of Uno that seemed to last forever and only ended when Jer was sure that I cheated! Then we went out to get a sub sandwich for him and a pizza for me (he ate half the pizza) and watched Golden Girls.

Jeremiah and his smooth pool moves!!

And finally, we went to the temple!

what a great poser! :) always willing to be my test shot model.

there is my cute honey with his shaved face....purely because he messed up trimming!

Baby's Room

We got the crib the other day and put it together yesterday. (we did a good job even though we had to re due 2 steps) :)

The crib looks kinda black but it is really 'Espresso' (a dark cherry wood color)

We don't have a mattress yet so my mom just put the blanket in there along with some bed friends....to the left are the 'normal' ones and to the right are the 'nightmare' ones!
(Invader Zim-that was Jeremiah's contribution)

Here is the dresser and a cute combo. I made the 'Families are Forever' plaque! It was so easy and I got all the parts (the wood plank and the phrase transfer) from Hobby Lobby.
Hey Sunny, notice anything familiar in this picture?!

The walls are a slight green tone khaki color. I am still waiting for Jay (my bro) to finish the leafy stencil for the dark green border around the room at chair rail height. Then we will be ready to fill it with the other stuff!

Oh, and this morning I woke up to baby Endry kicking and punching! I was so excited!! I was about to wake up Jeremiah to have him feel but then he stopped. Maybe next time Dad will get a chance to feel him.

We have a Winner!!

After the long wait to 20 weeks we have now gotten the winner of the baby name contest.....

AND THE WINNER IS....

Endry Alan

Take a look for yourself.... I am pretty sure that you will agree....that it's a boy!

We are both very excited! Not that we didnt want a girl...but we really wanted to have a big brother first. Jeremiah said, after walking out of the doctors office, "I am so relieved". He was praying for a boy so that it would be easier to break him into fatherhood. I am glad that he got what he wanted!

I feel like I have one more thing taken care of that I dont have to worry or think about. Only now I have pictures of my baby and that is a big distraction! (but a good one)
Now I can really get the room ready...and take out some of the pink pieces of art (at Jer's request)...finish registering at Walmart and move on to the next project.

OH, I also felt him move for the first time during the ultrasound! I had not felt anything until the guy was trying to get a shot of his pelvis and we saw both of his legs move.....and I felt him kick as I watched him move on the screen. It was really amazing to see it and feel it at the same time. And it just felt like a soft flutter. (how cute!)

GRADUATION! 2009

It is official....Kezia and I are bonified smart people!
Kezia, Mom, Me & Dad.

We were brought in by a group of Scotsman playing the bagpipes! Then we proceeded to our seats on the football field (looking into the sun). But the whole thing was about 35-45 mins long so it wasnt bad to sit in the hot sun under polyester gowns.

Oh, and speaking of gowns....I went to zip mine up right before we went out to the field and ooopps! Ummm, baby took up a bit too much room under the gown and I could hardly zip it. To say the least, I did not march with it zipped up, I held it closed the whole time. ( I did not want to be the only fat kid up there who's gown didnt fit!)

The moment you ALL have been waiting for!

SO, I finally felt up to taking a mug shot....

this is me and baby in all our glory! :)
So, I had my first pregnancy breakdown this week. I had a chance to reevaluate my situation and find a way to calm myself down. I found 3 things that have helped me out:
1) Talk to your friends and family about how you feel (even if the phone call lasts 53 minutes)
2) Buy a book that can give you lots of great answers (in my case I got "What to Expect When Your Expecting")
3) Write in a journal (sometimes no one really wants to hear you rant everyday, so just get it out by writing it in a book that no one will ever read but that makes you feel better)
These steps really helped me come to grips with my insanity!
OH, and don't forget GOD. Talking to Him really helps cuz then you sleep better!!!
