Ok, so we moved in on the 10th of September...and we are still unpacking. Uh.
Here are a few photos of our personal space.

This is what Endry has been doing the past...well, pretty much ever since we hooked up the TV and DVD player.

This is my new bed frame....well, only bed frame really. We feel like we are sleeping on a cloud with how high off the ground it is compared to sleeping with our mattresses on the floor.

Happy 4th of July, and here is how we celebrated....

we got all dressed up for church...

Endry had a Bomb Pop...while waiting for the grilled gormet hotdogs to finish cooking.

Kezia and I went to the Spirit of Kansas and sold a bunch of our crafts

a Summer Handbag: made of "fat quarters"

I got this super awesome idea from this blog (SewMamaSew) for using fat quarters to make a handbag.
It may look difficult but it is really quite easy...and even though the first one took me about 3 hours from start to finish I think the next one will go much faster.

Complete with a deep purple colored wooden handle and a magnetic snap closure. I am excited to use my new bag!

My Little Guy

Endry and I went out to Gage Park with Caleb and Julie today. It was super nice outside. We had a good time getting some fresh air and letting the boys run like wild animals at Animal Land.

My little guy is looking like such a big boy! There were lots of other younger kids there and it made Endry look almost like one of the "old" kids. One more month and he will be 1 1/2 years old. Ahhh, sigh.

Weekend Coverage

So, this weekend I was taking a break from sewing "major projects" by sewing "not so major projects".

I have decided that sewing a bag or DiapeRoo is therapy for me. It is something that takes a little time but I can be meticulous and see a beautiful end in less than 2 hours. Or if I want, I can make it last a few days. The fabric always looks cute and never talks back and never cries or whines.

So, here are a few recent pieces of therapy:

I just finished the Cutest, and most difficult bag of my life!

Well, I guess it was not really that hard just extremely time consuming. And this one if for my friend Julie!

It is way worth the time though. It will be indestructible and perfect for all the crap you carry around as a Mom. Plus all my MONEY...cuz I am loaded with that too...

Endry's Favorite Animal : Cats

Endry loves cats....he doesn't really say the word "cat" yet though, it still just comes out as a high pitched whine. Grndma Nae Nae brought back a fun book about cats from Nevada. Boy does he love it. It is the first book he picks up in the morning after he eats.

After getting him dressed one morning I went to put some clothes on myself and went back into his room and found that he had climbed up into the chair and started reading the book all by himself. :)

Birthday Prep: 2011

So, I have begun preparing for my birthday this year with two things in mind:

1. That I am turning 30 and will no longer be a "spring chicken"

AND

2. I want to look pretty Dang Good that day!!

First step in fulfilling item number 2 is find a cute outfit. I went to Old Navy on Monday and found a super cute button down shirt that has a bold flower print on it (that I will wear under a cardigan) and some fun "birthday" socks (ok, so they really say Happy Holidays...but you can really only see the word Happy...so I am pretending. Hey, they were only $1).

Now we are on to the hair. Today I went to Brock at Allure to get my hair cut. He did a wonderful job! I love that he listens to what I say I want and he not only makes sure that I get it but that (more importantly) it looks GOOD on ME!! So, here is a preview of my hair.

I also just finished a new DiapeRoo for myself.

Next birthday task will be shopping in Lawrence with my girl Julie, and getting some super cute clothes and fabric to make myself a new diaper bag/purse for spring.

I am soooo excited!!!!

It is 9:30pm, the house is quiet and I finally have some time to myself!

First I must post what Endry did yesterday....

he put himself into the Filing Cabinet.

And on to more normal things. So, I am so excited about this new project! My Mom and I have created a "monster"! We decided to give in to our temptations of the fabric store and find ways to use our "sins" and make some extra cash. Thus I have created a super cute pouch to hold diapers and wipes on the go, it is called the DiapeRoo!

My Mom has been working on baby blankets, fashion scarfs and winter neck wraps called the Turtle!

We are creating so many other things in conjunction with many other craft inspired people and will be offering the Hand-Made items for sale though Kicks N Grins, Arts and Crafts. We will be at the Farmers Market in Topeka beginning on April 9, 2011 and have all items online on our blog at KicksNGrins.blogspot.com. (check us out! we are in the process of adding more information but hope to have all current projects online by Feb. 28th)

So, my sister Kezia challenged me to make at least ONE new recipe per week. (so that I can learn to branch out and become a good cook)

And so I pulled out some recipes that I found online and decided to try one out!

All the snow that I wanted for Christmas came about a month late!
We got about 9 inches in Topeka this week. So, I had to take Endry out in it.

4 Year Anniversary!

Jeremiah and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary on December 9th. We went out to eat at the Golden Dragon (on Kansas) did a little bit of holiday shopping and saw "the Other Guys" (with Will Ferrell and Mark Walburg). Then we went to Jer's parents house to pick up the kid...and play a little bit of Wii. :)

Endry got to spend time with Grandma NaeNae...playing with her CPAP hoses!

We had a great time spending several hours just the two of us...and cant wait until next year when we get to do it again!

Christmas Never Looked So Good!

If you have never tried Shutterfly for printing your favorite photos...then you really should.
They offer a wide range of templates, easy to use website and reasonable prices.
The first time I ever tried Shutterfly I crated a photo book of my wedding and I loved it, so I went on to order cards and even basic 4x6 prints. They really do a good job on printing and I am a sucker for lots and lots of choices.

Companies like Shutterfly are wonderful for the average consumer who doesn't normally use a printing studio or have the extra cash to higher a Professional Photographer or Designer...but still want that "professional" look.

Black Friday is My Favorite Shopping Day!

I know that most people think if Black Friday as huge crowds of people running around, tearing things off the shelves and pushing other customers around. However, I see it as a very energized shopping experience.

The first time I went to Wal-Mart on Black Friday was about 4 years ago. I was a bit tired...at 5am...and was expecting all of the above to happen. Then I realized that the people that go early and have planned ahead were very nice and really funny at times. The people who would show up 10min before everything let loose and had no clue where anything was, nor did they have enough people to help them get all that they wanted were the crazy people! And I could understand why! The were counting on getting everything on their list and if they didnt then "Christmas was ruined"....and with that kind of attitude, it would be!

I have found that the more prepared I am and the less attached I am to the sale items the better I feel about being in the midst of the holiday buzz.

And so, to all you Black Friday goers I wish you happy hunting and zero killing this season.

All of my siblings w/Mom decided to take a vacation and go to Great Wolf Lodge. We had so much fun we are thinking of doing it once a year! Even though most people view this place as a kids place...it was awesome for adults too. And, even better, it is so close to Legends that we went to an awesome restaurant Yard House in the Legends Mall and did some great deal shopping too.

I defiantly recommend this for everyone!

First and Best! My Ruby Slippers came in the mail!!!!!!

We are going to be characters from the Wizzard of OZ this Halloween. (I will be Dorathy of course...)

Are they not super cute?! And you better believe that I am going to wear these suckers to church. Can you imagine what the Primary kids will think?! Awesome.

then I made this little thing of Endry that I printed on paper to cover up where my plastic desk drawer thing had a giant, ugly sticker that would not come off. (I know important stuff, huh.)

and then I went to paint lots of things dark brown. (The photos make it look lighter brown then they really are) Anyway, the one on the left use to be white and will now match Endry's new room decor. The one on the right is 1/2 finished. It will also go in Endry's room

Finally, Mom and I found really cool things a Big Lots and we decided to go get them. She got a nice entry table and I got 2 of these desk organizer things ($19.50 each). Jeremiah slaved for about 2 hours to put one of them together for me. (He is such a good husband) I am loving how much more compact my desk area is and how much more storage I have now. It is great!

Iowa State Fair 2010

The Iowa State Fair is like a giant playground for wonderful food! This is my second year going and I think it only got better! Grantid last year I was like 7months prego and so stinking hot and tired I could hardly stand it...but it was worth it. This year it rained...not a lot but some. Renee and I were OK with that cuz it kept the temperature cool which was AWESOME!
We also did a little sight seeing while we were there too.

Happy Father's Day!

We went to the Art museum in KC and then went to the Cheese Cake Factory for lunch.

We went with my Mom and Krista. We all had a great time!

I enjoy the Boppy as much as the next new mother...however, I do not enjoy their prices. And even though the coloring of your Boppy cover does not make someone more girly or more manly but it does make you feel good to have something look cute and be gender appropriate.

With that said, I evaluated the Boppy that was given to me.

Very cute and stylish...if you are a girl (which I am, but my SON is not).

So, I stripped the Boppy down to its nakedness.

But this was not too pleasing.

I then went searching through my fabric laying around from a Black Friday Sale. I chose to go with a stylish and cute yet much more masculine print.

then I busted up laughing!

Locks of Love Part 2

My Mom got her hair cut and donated her hairs to Locks of Love also.

Now we are kinda twins :)

This is the awesome Chicken Pot Pie I made. I used Julie's recipe that Shannon posted on her blog....I changed it a bit by using cream of celery soup and I added a thin layer of cheese under the top layer of crust. It was the best semi-homemade pot pie ever!!!

Although I kinda look on the crazy side....(give me a break I just got home from church, and I had a rough day)....I am proud to say that I put together our outfits in honor of it being warmer outside and almost St. Patrick's day. I would also like everyone to know that I made my skirt. It was surprisingly easy even though I cut it out and procrastinated actually sewing it cuz it just made me think I was going to be sewing for hours. (It really only took about 1 hour to sew...and about a week to procrastinate)

OH, and Jeremiah got new glasses....like them?!

The shoes that he is wearing are supper old! I think they were my brother Jay's shoes when he was little. (so like, 25 years old)

This is a photo of my favorite show. Now, I hear many of you snickering at my "old lady" past time...but I would have you know I am a believer of the Q. And this is why.

QVC has saved me soooo much money by allowing me to shop with my eyes and not with my purse.

QVC has offered many entertaining hosts that just brighten your day by the retarded things they say sometimes.

QVC has given me the motivation to get up and get dressed and do my hair and do my nails and put on some makeup...cuz if they look good then I should look good too.
(cuz they can see me and all)

QVC makes me feel like I see and have conversations will "real adults" 24-7...even when I really dont.

And lastly, QVC brings me background noise. You are never alone with the Q.

So the next time you dread going out to find that perfect birthday gift go to QVC and have a friend find it for you and tell you all the reasons why you should buy it.

I went searching for a good laundry detergent that was a good price, worked well at cleaning and removing stains and that smells great!

In about 2 months I went through Tide, Gain and All. I found that Tide cleaned better than Gain (although Gain does smell good) yet they were both about the same price and that was a bit expensive for my budget. So, I tried out All. Very budget friendly and has a great smell, and did a decent job of cleaning but still was not getting out those poo stains that my son would leave on the changing table pad.
So.....I decided to give Oxi Clean a try. Now, I have to tell you that the first time that I used it with my All detergent I was not impressed. It only faded the large poo stain that had been on my changing pad for about 2 months. HOWEVER, the second time I used the Oxi Clean to wash the changing pad I was amazed!! The stain was G-O-N-E, gone.
And the great thing is that it doesn't take that much stuff to do the job. I use about 1/3 of the scoop in each load and it freshens and cleans the laundry, yet still allowing the great smell from the All detergent to shine through.
In a nut shell, I think I found my laundry cleaning combo...have you found yours?

Walker time

Although the Dr. said not to put Endry in a walker...I have done so anyway.

I found that he loves to stand and play but I cant hold him up all day long while he plays. And that is where the walker comes in. He will sit there and play for about 15 to 30 min. at a time but he LOVES IT!

Hello, I am 3 months old and I am longer than my bear. I can sit up with help, I love to smile and I am starting to make lots of fun new noises. I love to take baths because I get to kick and splash. I also love to lay on my changing table and in my bed because I have cool leaves and new letters to look at. I like it when people talk to me and help me stand up so that I can see everything! My most favoritest thing right now is putting all 5 fingers in my mouth.
